Nestled perfectly in the foothills of Eastern Himalayas, Nameri National Park is a paradise for bird watcher and wildlife enthusiasts. Situated along Jia Bhoroli River, Nameri is one of the most picture-perfect national parks in Assam. The park borders with Assam and Arunachal Pradesh and it is home to few endangered wildlife species as white-winged wood duck, Tiger, Sloth Bear, Leopard, Sambar, Clouded Leopard, Gaur, four varieties of Hornbill, Indian Wild Dog, and numerous other species. The sanctuary has a high number of elephants that can be seen in herds. The picturesque park is one of the best places to see in Assam and it will be a crime to miss this verdant beauty.
It will be an adventure to go for rafting in Jia Bharali River, with surprisingly consistent rapids, deep gorges, pristine campsites, and breath-taking beauty. Known as Kameng in Assam, the gushing river is surrounded by the verdant forest of Nameri National Park that makes it a perfect place for river rafting.
A 5 km trek in the core area of Nameri National Park is one of the most thrilling activities in Assam. Wander through the verdant forest into the wilderness and let the calmness take over you. Take a nature walk through the park and if you are lucky you will spot sambar, dhole, barking deer, sloth bear, Indian bison, fox, capped langur, and a variety of turtles including the Indian soft-shelled turtle and Asian leaf turtle.

Nestled around the gushing Brahmaputra River, this national park is all about vast grasslands, swamps, and lush jungles. With about 40 major mammals like wild elephants, tiger, buffaloes, gaur, monkeys, deer, otters, badgers, leopards, and wild boar, Kaziranga National Park is a must-places for the wildlife enthusiast. It’s a sight to see the flocks of thousands of migratory birds, from lands as far away as Siberia. Take a jeep or an elephant safari to explore the park at its best. Assamese cuisine is a must try around the town. Served with 20 different dishes, treat your taste buds with one of the best cuisines in North East India.
Elephant Safari is said to be the best ways to explore the Kaziranga National Park. The Safaris usually start early mornings and evenings. The best time would be to take an early morning one. It is one of the major attractions in the park as it is a perfect way to watch and explore Kaziranga from up close. The elephants take you to those parts of jungle where jeeps can’t go and they can get you the closest to the one-horned Rhinos.
Jeep Safari is one of the most adventurous and must-do activities in Kaziranga National Pak. The 4x4 will take you to the verdant and wild jungles of Kaziranga. If you want to catch the wildlife of Kaziranga National Park at its best then a jeep safari is a must do! Some of the popular animal species that can be spotted in the national park area are Great Indian One Horned Rhino, Pigmy Hog, Royal Bengal Tiger, wild elephants, Swamp Deer, Hispid Hare, Gangetic Dolphin, Wild Buffalo, Golden Langur, Hoolock Gibbon, Stump-tailed Macaque, and Pig-tailed Macaque.
After breakfast, arrive at Guwahati and check-in to the hotel. In the evening visit Kalakshetra.

Srimanta Sankaradeva or Kalakshetra is a popular cultural institution named after a famous play r and poet of the medieval period called Sirmanta Sankaradev. Apart from the intriguing library, this museum displays different types of items and artifacts which are used by the diversified ethnic groups of Assam. Diverse cultural objects of the state are also displayed in the museum. The open-theatre and the scenic views attract a number of tourists and it is one of the must-visit places in around Guwahati.
After breakfast, visit Kamakhya Temple. Later, transfer to Guwahati Airport/Railway Station for your onward journey.
Kamakhya Temple is a popular pilgrimage site in India representing the female power of Shakti and celebrating a woman’s ability to conceive. According to Hindu myth, when the troubled Shiva scattered the pieces of this deceased wife Sati’s body across the realm, one of the pieces, Sati’s womb, fell on Nilachal Hill which is around 8km from Guwahati. The Kamakhya Temple was built to honor the deity Kamakhya. It is one the oldest of the 51 Shakti Pithas in India and one of the most visited tourist places in India. If you are in Guwahati then a visit to the Kamakhya Temple is worth it.
