Dubai is known for luxury shopping, ultra-modern architecture and an exuberant nightlife. If glitz and glamour is what excites you, there is the marina, the malls and the world-class hotels. But, if history intrigues you, head to al-Fahidi, the old part of the city loaded with conventional homes and local markets, because it gives you a charming break from the skyscrapers and superhighways of modern Dubai. If you want to unwind by a pool and do nothing-you can do it. If you want a boost of adrenaline or adventure you can have that as well-by riding sand hills, skiing, skydiving and snorkelling. If you want to experience wildlife there are camels, aquariums and countless other animals. Dubai has something for everyone, which makes it an ideal location for family holidays.
This city is surely known for all things luxurious and extravagant, which may trick you into believing that spending a couple days of here may be heavy on your pocket. Truth is, nothing is “too much” for Dubai because I’m 100% positive that you’ll be able to find gold-plated WCs here. The cost of your trip solely depends on how much you're willing to spend-because planning an affordable trip isn't an impossible task. You have your airbnbs and budget hotels like the Savoy Park and the Damac Maison. Then, you have your overthe- top-dripping-with-all-things-lavish hotels like the Burj-al-Arab, Atlantis, Raffles, The Palace Downtown, and the list goes on and on.
Talk about things to do once you get here, how about watching the sunset or sunrise from the tallest building in the world, on top of the world (quite literally!), the Burj Khalifa? Go wild for a while and skydive over Palm Jumeirah or swim with the sharks in the Dubai Mall Aquarium. If that doesn’t tingle your “excitement bone” head to the Beach at JBR to witness the largest and one of its kind, inflatable water park, the Dubai Aqua Park. And, if you want to witness what it feels like to “have the best of both worlds” check out the Dubai Frame located in Zabeel Park to give visitors the best view of old and modern Dubai.
Blending the highs and lows is something that Dubai exceeds expectations at. From local street kebabs (shawarmas) to marvellous eateries in seven star hotels, there are infinite choices. And of course, in such a fast-paced, convenience-led city there is of course a branch of just about every worldwide chain of coffee shop and fast food franchise imaginable.
All in all, this city will always leave you begging for more, and I say that with personal experience. I’ve been to Dubai a couple of times now, and it never fails to surprise me. I am always in awe of this place, and I can never have enough of it
